From facial recognition systems to online course materials, universities have been integrating tech into the lives of students for quite some time.

Interviewing the Sunway Education Group’s Director of IT Services, Tony Lee, Tech Wire Asia discovered how technology is permeating campus operations.

“We have been keeping track of facial recognition and other biometric technologies, and there are viable use-cases especially in the education environment,” Lee explains.

To create a digitally-relevant experience for both students and staff, educational technology has the power to enhance the teaching and learning experience of universities worldwide.

So, which are the most technologically-advanced universities in the US right now?

Following the 2019 rankings from Best Collegeshere’s what we found:

Recently launching a new cybersecurity website, Clemson University in South Carolina conducts security awareness training, has set up DUO: a two-factor authentication, and shows students the best practices for public Wi-Fi.

Consistently updating students’ knowledge on computing tricks and techniques, this university keeps its software relevant and accessible.

4. Purdue University – West Lafayette

With its Ms.Tech Collective that connect students with successful Chicago entrepreneurs and its dedication to bringing in speakers from local businesses, Purdue University prioritises all things technological.
